Weekly Letter
English III
Week 10 (second quarter)
October 19-23
This week we will finish up our discussion on how bold experimentation of style and theme synthesizes with other modern pieces of
literature. The four poems you read not only showcase this artistry, but also use it to present a connection to the themes in Death of a
Salesman. This week you are asked to operate in the highest levels of learning: analysis & synthesis. I am so proud of you. Keep up
the good work.
---------------------------------------------------------------------Learning Goals:
Determine two or more themes or central ideas of a text and analyze their development over the course of the text, including how they interact
and build on one another to produce a complex account; provide an objective summary of the text.
Determine the writing styles of authors during different literary periods.
Develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on addressing what is most
significant for a specific purpose and audience.
