The Lot Associate's primary responsibility is to load the orders into customer vehicles. The
position not only interacts with The Home Depot associates but the customers as well. Lot

Sales Associates provide fast friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess
their needs and provide assistance. Bi-lingual sales associates have an emphasis on
conversing with a customer in that customer’s native language sharing department and
product knowledge providing information on product features and knowing related items to
sell an entire project. Associates in this position know how to greet qualify recommend and
close every customer in their department in that customer’s preferred language. They will
also maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas and ensure that the areas are clean
shop-able and safe.

Employees will need to take a drug test and background check after arriving in
Anchorage. The drug test typically takes 2 days to get the results and the
background can take up to 7 days (although the average is around 3 days). Once
this information is cleared they can start. CHECK ON THIS: Currently Home
Depot is looking to waive the background; meaning the employee can still work
while waiting for the results. In the event they come back in a “red” status we
would end their employment. The benefit to the waiver is they don’t have to lose
time by waiting for the results to clear.

On your first day of work employees will participate in a paid New Hire
Orientation. These are a series of web based training courses that must be
completed before you start work on the sales floor. This training is called Before
the Apron Training. Each new-hire will also be given a New Associate Coach that
will act as their mentor and trainer for the next 30 days.
