South Carolina Youth Soccer Association Request Nominees For 2014/15 Boys and Girls Competitive Coach of the Year Awards SC Youth Soccer is seeking nominations for the 2014/15 Boys and Girls Competitive Coach of the Year. If you have had the opportunity to see or be under the direction of a coach that can demonstrate his/her soccer skills and communicate in a professional manner that we would like our players to develop under and represent SC Youth Soccer, please refer to the following guidelines on selecting your nominee for Coach of the Year. The deadline for all nominees must be received on or before June 26, 2015, in the SC Youth Soccer Office, 7436 Broad River Road, Bldg. 2, Suite 211, Irmo, SC 29063. The following criteria must be provided for our selection process. The SC Youth Soccer Board will make all final decisions. Sportsmanship: Does the coach provide an example of sportsmanship? Do they teach both players and parent/supporters? Are players encouraged to develop the link between sportsmanship and life? Does the coach practice what he/she preaches? Player Development: Are players motivated to learn and play to the best of their ability? Does the coach incite enthusiasm, creativity, independence, self-confidence and challenges? Are players encouraged to seek higher competition? Does the coach encourage players to practice by themselves and engage in pick up matches? Personal Coaching Development: Does the coach continue to learn and perfect skills and abilities? Has he/she taken courses in all aspects of game; refereeing, coaching, or playing? Does the coach participate in some manner whether playing or refereeing? Did he/she learn about the game in other ways? Citizenship: Is the coach well known in his/her own soccer community and aware of the larger soccer world? Does the coach positively influence soccer beyond his/her own team? Is the coach open to suggestions or other ideas? If you can answer ALL of the above information in writing about your nominee, then we need the following information included in his/her resume: Goals/objectives, years coached, teams coached, certification/licenses, community dedication and achievements.
