Automatic Rounding –Up of Final Grade in D2L

Grade Rounding Through BONUS Grade Item
D2L does not have a feature to automatically round final grades at the end of the semester.
An easy work-around is to give all students an extra-credit item worth ½% of the total course points, and then
give all students those bonus points.
The ½% of the course points “pushes up” fractional points into their proper “rounded” values.
Create the Bonus Grade Item

Go to GRADES > MANAGE GRADES > NEW ITEM
Choose type NUMERIC
Enter a Name (i.e. “Final Grade Rounding”)
Enter MAX. POINTS to be ½% of the total course points
(if you have 100 points in your course, enter 0.5 points,
if you have 150 points in your course, enter 0.75 points,
if you have 200 points in your course, enter 1 point, etc.)
5. Select the BONUS checkbox (this is solely extra-credit / not a graded assignment)
6. Press SAVE.
Enter the Bonus Points (for Rounding)

Go to GRADES > and find the ROUNDING item in the gradesheet
Click on the RULER for the ROUNDING item.
Click the GRADE ALL button.
Enter in the points (all students will get the full points)
Click SAVE.
Your Calculated Final Grade will now be “rounded up” for all students.
