Scientific Notation & Expanded Form
Scientific Notation: A way of writing numbers as a decimal, between 1
and 10, multiplied by a power of 10.
Example: 70 120 as a scientific notation is 7.012 x 104
Expanded Form: A way of writing a number that shows the value of each
digit as a power of 10.
Example: 1 209 in expanded form is 1 x 103 + 2 x 102 + 9 x 1
