those fines, issued to motorists for refusal to pay tolls (following lack of
payment of a Notice of Demand) for the period 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009.
All toll roads at this time operated by Queensland Motorways.

Infringement Notices were issued to motorists for failure to comply with a
demand notice.

Infringement Notices were issued to motorists for failure to comply with a

All fines referred to in 2.) are issued for Queensland Motorways Limited. The
Department of Transport and Main Roads is not responsible for the
enforcement for River City Motorways.

2010.

Infringement Notices were issued to motorists for failure to comply with a
demand notice.

Department of Transport and Main Roads is not responsible for the
enforcement for Rivercity Motorway or Brisbane City Council.

The total number of those fines referred above not paid, and their face value,
and passed on to the State Penalty Enforcement Registry (SPER).
Response
For the period 1 July 2008 to 30 September 2010, a total of 39,304 fines have
progressed to the State Penalty Enforcement Registry (SPER) for collection.
These fines have a total face value of $5,228,960 (plus SPER administration
fees).
