How



to reduce:

Avoid over-packaged products
Choose durable goods over disposables
 Buy only what you need
Reuse & recycling tips:
 Save time and energy by visiting drop-off
sites on your way to other destinations
 Maintain and repair items
 Compost yard waste and food waste
 Use a self-mulching mower and leave
grass clippings on the lawn
 Select hardy, native plants and trees that
require less water
 Buy items with recycled content and
“close the loop” by creating a market for
recycled products
If in doubt, throw it out!
Non-recyclable items mixed in with similar
materials that are recyclable may contaminate a
load of material and make it unacceptable for
processing. (If so, the entire load may be dumped
in the landfill.) If in doubt, throw it out.
Recycling drop-off sites:
Self-service sites are available 24 hours a day.
Allied Recycling does not have facilities to
sort items by category. Do not leave mixed
materials. Call 377-3880 if bins are full.
Call 742-8269 to report illegal dumping.
