The DACUM International Seminar is designed
primarily for persons who have been trained to use
DACUM and have been involved in organizing and
facilitating DACUM workshops. In selected cases,
others may attend with approval or invitation.

Please join us in Charlotte, NC and learn firsthand how many companies, colleges, schools,
government agencies, and other countries are using DACUM and SCID in similar and different
ways. This is a seminar that will help the experienced facilitator and curriculum developer
stay on the cutting edge and allow them to share ideas, materials, and successes with others. It
will present alternative strategies and facilitation techniques that you can use immediately!

We invite experienced facilitators to submit a DACUM/SCID Seminar Proposal. A form for that purpose
is enclosed, and we invite you to submit a proposal on any topic related to the DACUM/SCID curriculum
development process that you feel would be of value and interest to other experienced facilitators. Please
submit your proposal by November 7, 2008. You will be notified about the status of your proposal on
or before November 14. Registrations are due by November 14, 2008.
Information about the recommended hotel or hotels and seminar location (venue) will be provided by email upon request or upon receiving your registration. For planning purposes, expect the hotel cost to
be $125-150/night. The registration fee includes two lunches and refreshment breaks.
To keep you informed about our upcoming DACUM and SCID activities, see our website at
www.dacumohiostate.com. You should be aware that we are currently scheduling about one DACUM
Institute and SCID Workshop every two months in Columbus, Ohio. Many DACUMs and SCIDs are also
conducted once or twice monthly on a sponsor request basis.
Please consider attending the annual International Vocational Education & Training Association (IVETA)
Conference scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, 2008.

Call for Proposals
Theme: DACUM Does It Better!
If you are an experienced DACUM facilitator, you should consider being a presenter at the nineteenth annual DACUM International
Seminar scheduled for December 1-2, 2008 in Charlotte, NC. Share your experiences, innovative ideas, and techniques with your
colleagues and at the same time, reduce your registration fee by $50.
We welcome proposals on any DACUM or SCID-related topic. We are especially interested in topics emphasizing DACUM and SCID
quality in community colleges, companies, and governmental and non-governmental organizations. Time slots may be requested for 15,
30, 45 or 60 minutes. Some suggested topics include using DACUM/SCID to/for:
