Please note demand for this space is high, we aim to display four exhibitions in this space per year, these exhibitions alternate between Community Group displays and Contemporary craft displays. The display can have a combination of 2D and 3D artworks, objects, images and text labels. Displays should relate in some way to the traditional crafts in the Burrell Collection: ceramics, weaving or metalwork for example. Please make sure this is clear in your proposal. Case Dimensions (approx.) Case 1 w 1490mm x d 700mm x h 1280mm Case 2 w 1490mm x d 700mm x h 1280mm Text Please provide a maximum of 200 words, in a Microsoft Word document at least two weeks prior to the exhibition installation date. Try to explain the display, your practice / methods of your craft, what your ideas are and how it is relates to the Burrell Collection. Museum staff will edit any text provided and make it accessible to all visitors. Also, make sure that individual 2D and 3D artworks, objects and images have a label that describes what they are. We can provide you with examples of previous displays if needed. Images/photographs Please provide good quality images. Please ensure that you have permission to use all images provided. Any images used will need a caption – so please include these. Please discuss with us dimensions of images we can assist with printing these. Transport We cannot be responsible for transporting any displays. All displays must be delivered to and picked up from the Burrell Collection at a time prearranged. Our duty of care We appreciate the work involved in creating a display for the Burrell Collection. However, you will have to agree to these terms: This is a loan, and we expect the contents of the display to be collected at the end of the event. (We can make a pre-arranged date to do this). Failure to do so may result in it being disposed of. Leave images and other works at your own risk. We do have a duty of care and will respect this at all times. Display items will not be insured Display and Publicity We are happy to discuss any ideas you may have regarding how objects are displayed but the Burrell Collection staff will be responsible for installation.
