Nuapara District: According to IMD Bhubaneswar 16mm cumulative rain is expected from 23.10.13 to 27.10.13 and no rain on

24.10.13 to 25.10.13. Sky will remain mainly cloudy from 23.10.13 to 27.10.13.Wind will blow from N-E and S-E direction with speed of 002-007 km/hr. Maximum temperature will vary around 28-29 0 C and minimum temperature will be around 20-21 0 C.

Maximum RH will vary between 95-99% and minimum RH will vary between 68-85%.

1.

Go for transplanting of rabi vegetable crops.

2.

Keep water in paddy field upto 2.5 to 5.0cm till milking stage. Maintain saturation at grain filling stage. Drain water at ripening stage. Go for irrigation if field is dry at flowering and milking stage.

3. Harvest maize and cotton. Sundry for 2-3 days .

Kharif paddy:

1. The direct seeded paddy crop is at grain maturity to ripening stage. Maintain saturation at grain maturity stage and drain water from field at ripening stage.

2. The transplanted paddy crop is at twelve to fourteen week stage. The medium and late duration paddy is at late PI to milking stage

and early duration paddy is at grain maturity to ripening stage. Drain water from field at ripening stage.

3. Stem borer attack has been noticed during this period in paddy. Spray with monocrotophos / chloropyriphos @2ml/lit water after.

4. BPH and GLH occurs during this period. Spray imidacloprid 1ml/4lit water for controlling BPH and GLH.

Sugarcane:

1.

The sugarcane plant is at grand growth stage (thirty two to thirty four week stage).

3. Red rot disease in sugarcane occurs at grand growth stage. Bunding of affected field should be done to avoid movement of rain or

floodwater from affected field to non affected field. Destroy trashes from the infected plant by burning and spray carbendazim

@2g/lit of water. Severely affected plants or canes should be uprooted and destroyed.

Maize:

1.

The crop is at harvesting stage. Harvest the matured cobs when the husk becomes dry and sundry the cobs after dehusking. Shelling should be done with power maize sheller or manual sheller. Again dry the crops to bring the moisture content to 10-12% for safe storage.

Cotton:

1.

Complete plucking from the matured open bolls immediately as light rain is expected on 23 rd , 26 th and 27 th ..

2.

The crop is at fifteen to seventeen week (flowering, boll formation to boll bursting stage) stage. To monitor the movement of spodoptera use spodo lure in pheromone trap @ 2nos per acre.

3.

Spray Acephate 2g/lit along with stcker 0.5ml/lit of water to control Jassids in cotton

4.

Go for spraying 2% DAP for better boll development.

Arhar:

1.

The crop is at grand growth (fifteen to seventeen week) stage.

Green gram and Blackgram :

1. The crop is at three to four week stage. Spray chloropyriphos@2ml/ lit water to control leaf eating caterpillar.

Vegetables:

1.

Go for sowing and transplanting rabi vegetables.

2.

The rabi crops are in nursery bed is at four to five week stage.

3.

Go for field preparation for planting tomato, cabbage and cauliflower at 3-4 week stage. Apply 4ton FYM/acre before final ploughing.

4.

After final land preparation of the main field rings or mounds should be prepared at spacing of 60cm from row to row and 45cm from plant to plant within the row for tomato. (Fertiliser dose for tomato is 125:60:100 N:P
