Change A Letter: Using your words, change a letter or a word part to create a new word. For example,

Hink Pinks: Write at least 10 rhyming words and clues.
Operations: Add or subtract letters to create new words (confidentialconfident).
Rhyme Time: Play with a partner. Each person makes a list of words that rhyme with a sort word. After 60

rhymes but has a different feature (such as seed and read), 2 points are earned.
SAW: Sort, Alphabetize, and Write
Word Hunt: Cut out words from a newspaper or magazine. Sort these words into the features you are studying.
Glue them down on a sheet of paper in the sorted pattern.
Color Code: Write your words using a color code to show the feature in each word. The feature of each column
in your sort should be a color and all of the letters not part of the feature should be in pencil or black.
Syllables: Sort your words and then write them separating syllables. (You may only do this if you have more
than 15 2+ syllable words)
Analogies: Use 10 of your words to create analogies. (Ex. Sailor is to boat as driver is to car)
Extend: Come up with 10 additional words for your sort. Then sort these words into your features.
Ransom Words: Write your words by cutting out letters in a newspaper or magazine and
gluing them onto blank paper.
