New Year's Greetings Everyone!
On behalf of all of us here at Servant Song, I want to extend our hopes for a New Year blessed with the Lord’s
provision for each of you and your loved ones, and our prayers that your hearts and homes would be filled with His
love and His peace! As we begin this New Year, let us pray for (or do what we can to help) those who are
experiencing extreme weather conditions across our country and around the world.
It has always been our desire at Servant Song, to companion others, even if only briefly, on their spiritual sojourn
toward wholeness, healing, and transformation in Christ . . . to share the gifts we have been given . . . and to provide a
restful space for the weary . . . a place of hope to the disheartened . . . a space where all can experience the loving
presence of the Spirit of God. Likewise, we are blessed. People and groups come from all over the eastern/central
U.S., (one person came from China) to retreat at Servant Song, and they return year after year. It is our hope that in
2016 many more of you--individuals, clergy, and church groups--from our local communities will take advantage of
this "peaceful sanctuary" to "come apart and rest awhile" as you seek God's guidance for yourselves and your faith
communities. Apart from the retreats, we also have a number of other activities on a continuing basis.
We constantly seek the Lord’s guidance about the program/retreat offerings here. So, if you have a suggestion, please
let us know. He may be speaking through you! FYI, most overnight retreats can also be attended as commuter. We
continue to offer most of our programs/retreats without charge.* “Free Will” donations to offset the expense of these
programs (from those who are able) are accepted but not expected. We welcome all of you to "come to the water" at
Servant Song that your thirst for the Lord may be satisfied--that you may find rest, healing, and the peace of the Lord.
Beginning January 4th, Servant Song's Chapel will be open each Monday evening for private prayer from 5 - 6 p.m.
This is a joint effort with other Waynesburg area churches, who are opening their doors on specific nights/times, to
encourage folks to stop in and "lift their hearts and voices" as it says in 2 Chronicles 7:14, "...if my people who are
called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will
hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." In an atmosphere of quiet, folks are invited to
pray--as the lord leads--for His mercy and healing . . . locally, nationally, and globally. All are welcome. Just walk in.
"Come to the Quiet" day retreats have typically been held during Advent and Lent. In 2016, because of growing
appeal, a "Come to the Quiet" day retreat will be held monthly on the second Tuesday. Each one will be themed to
foster spiritual growth. January's theme will be about growing in awareness of Christ's presence.
A reminder: private and individual directed retreat days can be scheduled year round. Spiritual direction is available
by appointment, both in-person and on-line via Skype.
May God bless you and your loved ones abundantly in 2016! Pray for us—we always pray for you!
Go With God!
