CRITERIA
 Students born in 2003/2004 (must be turning 11 or 12 this year)
 They have the desire and talent to make a Townsville school team and possibly go onto
make a North Queensland team.
NOMINATION
Please forward any names of boys and girls who fit the above criteria so that we can begin
organisation of teams. Please include any past history of playing eg. School ,club or
representative teams. The players should be experienced players. Please complete a separate
form for boys and girls.
Nominations must be forwarded by Monday 16 March 2015 to Weir State School

The school Principal must sign the nomination list before it is faxed to me.
Please give the students wishing to nominate a permission note with the details of the trials.
Students must bring their permission forms to the trials and hand them to the selector or coach.
Any child who is not on the school list or does not bring their permission note will not be able to
trial.
Any teachers interested in helping to select the teams are most welcome to attend the trials. We
require a minimum of 2 selectors per court (2 courts). Please advise when you return the
nomination form if you can assist or email me on marnd6@eq.edu.au

TOWNSVILLE / THURINGOWA BASKETBALL TRIALS 2015
Dear Parents / Caregivers,
Your child has shown an interest in participating in the Townsville / Thuringowa
basketball trials this year. The trials are being held at the following venues and dates:
Trial Date for both Townsville & Thuringowa boys and girls: Annandale Christian College Thursday
19 March (BOYS) and Wednesday 18 March (GIRLS) at Annandale Christian College at 3:30 pm –
5:00 pm
Should your child be selected in the Townsville or Thuringowa teams he/she is
making a commitment to:
 Attend North Queensland trials in the Burdekin (Ayr), on 28 April 2015 and be
prepared to drive / private transport to and from the trials (carpooling)
 Purchase a Townsville or Thuringowa polo shirt at $20 and a water bottle at
$4 (compulsory)
 Pay levy of approximately $20 for administration costs
 If selected in the Northern team, play in the State championships in
Auchenflower (Brisbane) in June
 If selected, pay the Northern team levy of approximately $500 -600
Please complete the permission note below and hand it to the selectors at the trials.
If the permission note is not handed in, your child will be unable to trial.
