April 19th 7pm April 21 Earth Day--will have float. April 14 No Child Left Unrecruited at Lawrence Arts Center evening. April 14 Environmental panel, sponsored by Oread Friends, 2pm at ECM. April 24 Immigration Policy Forum 6:30 Food, 7PM Forum St Johns Church April 27 short films on immigration at Lawrence Public Library, 6-8:30pm. May 1 Immigrants Policy events (Immigration Justice Week) May 13--LCPJ meeting at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3:30pm. Evening of Arts for Peace, Unity Church Assemble at 10:45 at Watson Park. Business Evening of Arts for Peace, arranged. Will have song book but not program. Will put in Monitor and on front page web site. Anne Haehl will be mistress of ceremonies. Tax Day. April 16&17. Retta will get information from War Resisters League. Christine will look for information on comparing what we pay in taxes compared with what people in other countries paid. People will sign up on the web site in the volunteer section.. No Child Left Unrecruited--Will give $50 for this program. Had 150 people at 4th Anniversary march--including children and old people--polite and legal. But some of the anarchists receved arrest warrants for activities for up to year and a half ago. They have asked the ACLU to look into the police action.. St Patricks Day Parade--We gave thanks to Anne Burgess, Retta, and others who worked on the St. Patricks Day float. Earth Day. We will reuse the float, It will say, "War is not Health for Children and Other Living Things." Everyone should look for inexpensive things to give away--stickers, magnets etc. Sir, no Sir. Anne Burgess will look into getting it presented as part of series at Liberty Hall. We would pay the $100 fee. Election of Officers. Christine agreed to continue as coordinator/provider with the proviso that Allan will serve as communications officer to deal with the press.. Anne Haehl agreed to stay as secretary. Retta agreed to be treasurer. We will try to share the writing of thak you notes to lighten her work load. Linda Johnston may not be available to do the Monitor next year as she may be taking a job elsewhere. We will discuss this later. Immigrants Rights--agreed to pay $40 for them to rent the park, will find out who to write check to. Christine Miscellaneous: Mark Larson gave the treasurer's report, which was improved.
