Rosemary Horrox is Director of Studies in History at Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge. Tuesday 8 Oct. - Martin Plaut – ‘The South African National Congress delegation to London of 1909 and its aftermath’. Martin Plaut is senior research fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London. Tuesday 12 Nov. - Professor Clive Bloom – ‘London’s Burning; Civil Unrest & Urban Riots’. Clive Bloom is Emeritus Professor of English and American Studies at Middlesex University, a best-selling author and publisher. Tuesday 10 Dec. - AGM - To mark the 150th anniversary of the formation of Ealing Local Board of Health, our Chairman, Dr. Peter Hounsell, talks about ‘Modest beginnings: the early years of Ealing Local Board.’ There will be wine and food at this meeting. 2014 Tuesday 14 Jan. - Dr John Maddicott – ‘Simon de Montfort - Idealist or Adventurer?’ Dr Maddicott was a Fellow and Tutor in Medieval History at Exeter College, Oxford Tuesday 11 Feb. - Richard Ryan - ‘The Spanish Civil War’ . Professor Prazmowska is Professor of International History at the London School of Economics, London University Tuesday 8 April - Michael Gandy – ‘The story of the Huguenots’ Michael Gandy is former research officer of The Huguenot Society. Tuesday 13 May - Professor Justin Champion - ‘The Public History of Magna Carta’. Professor Champion of Royal Holloway, University of London, is a strong proponent of public history and is a member of the Historical Association's Committee of Public History.
