Step 1: Draw stop-action diagrams & label parts that
change

Step 2: Define variables and functions (Usually time is the
variable)
#6: Variable is time; functions are position functions
Step 3: Which derivative is given? Which derivative is
requested?
Step 4: Find relationship involving answers from Step 3.
(Pythagorean theorem, similar triangles, formulas, etc.)
Step 5: Differentiate both sides of equation from Step 4.
Step 6: Answer the question.
Step 7: Ask yourself if the answer is reasonable.
