Spelling Options Week of 10/1-10/5 Unit 3: Long A and Long E Please choose 4 of the 6 options listed (* is a required option). Spelling homework should be turned each day, so I can check to make sure you are spelling correctly. You may work ahead if you have other commitments, but I will only check one option per night. Remember to study Thursday for your test on Friday! 1. Word Chain-use graph paper to make a word chain with your words. Tape the graph paper into your spelling book. 2. Dictionary Definitions (look up the definition in the dictionary of 5 of your hardest words). Put the rest of your words in ABC order. 3. Type your words-Use different colors and fonts to type your words on the computer. Be sure to print out your homework and tape them into your spelling book. *4. Word Sort-sort your words into two columns: long a and long e 5. 10 sentences (a sentence should be at least 5 words long. Please underline your spelling word in the sentence, and make sure your sentence makes sense). 6. Go Vowel-less (Make two columns. Write the word correctly, then write the word without vowels EX: hurricane=h-rr-c-n-. Use a dash for every vowel in the word.
