Length of Assignment – non-essential if the information is contained within the scheme of work Formative or Interim assessment date Assessment or Hand in Date – can include assessment methods e.g. written assignment, portfolio, presentation Learning Outcomes – assignment design should ensure that the learning outcomes can be achieved Description of Project / Brief – context Timetable / Scheme of Work - to include key dates in support of assignment: Visits / Presentations / Crits / Hand-ins / Tutorials / Self Directed Study etc Reading List – Harvard referenced Recommended Research Sources – primary and secondary Assessment Criteria with Indicative Evidence – ideally this should be at the end of the assignment brief to ensure the emphasis is on the learning, UAL Awarding Body acknowledge that this may not be compatible with some centre internal QA procedures. In a summative assessment the grading criteria would be used. An assessment sheet should clearly show a referred student what criteria they have failed to meet and an additional sheet should be given to them setting out the evidence they need to produce to meet the criteria with a date and time to produce the required work Comments – a feedback section should be included to ensure students are given sufficient feedback to understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
