(a) Cambridge School Certificate with credit in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics obtained at not more than two sittings OR (b) Passes not below Grade C in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics obtained at not more than two sittings at the General Certificate of Education “Ordinary Level” provided that at one of the sittings, passes have been obtained either (i) in five subjects, including English Language with at least Grade C in any two subjects or (ii) in six subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any one subject OR (c) An equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board. To ensure that Laboratory instrument, equipment and glasswares are maintained properly. 5. To participate actively in any project where his services may be required. 6. (Materials Testing ROAD DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TRAINEE ASSISTANT INSPECTOR OF WORKS Qualifications: A. Salary: Rs 12,425 x 250 – 12,925 (RDA 2) Training: Trainee Assistant Inspector of Works will be required to undergo two years’ on-the-job training, both theoretical and practical, in all aspects of the work of an Assistant Inspector of Works at the end of which they will be required to undergo a work - oriented examination to be conducted in consultation with competent examining bodies. On successful completion of the training, Trainee Assistant Inspector of Works will be considered for appointment to the grade of Assistant Inspector of Works, as and when vacancies occur. ROAD DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ACCOUNTS OFFICER Qualifications: A. B. A Cambridge Higher School Certificate with passes in at least two subjects at Principal Level including Mathematics or Accounting obtained on one certificate or Passes in at least two subjects including Mathematics or Accounting obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education “Advanced Level”. C. A Diploma in Accounting from a recognized institution or Passes in Papers F1, F2 and F3 of the Fundamentals (Knowledge) (formerly Part 1) of the ACCA Examination. OR Equivalent qualifications to A, B and C above acceptable to the Board. D. Candidates should also:(i) be computer literate; and (ii) reckon at least two years’ experience in financial duties. A Certificate in Spreadsheet is desirable. Qualification at A above should have been obtained prior to qualification at B above. Candidates should produce written evidence of experience claimed. To be responsible to the Financial Manager for the day-to-day running of the Accounts Department and the supervision of its staff. 2. To advise on financial and accounting business including stores accounting. 3. To ensure that financial accounting and stores regulations are understood, correctly applied and fully complied with. 4. To control and discharge expenditure and payments in compliance with regulations. 5. To control and collect revenue and receipts and ensure the safekeeping and banking thereof. 6. Cambridge School Certificate with credit in at least five subjects including English Language, French, Mathematics and Computer Studies obtained at not more than two sittings or Passes not below Grade C in at least five subjects including English Language, French, Mathematics and Computer Studies obtained at not more than two sittings at the General Certificate of Education “Ordinary Level” provided that at one of the sittings, passes have been obtained either (i) in five subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any two subjects or (ii) in six subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any one subject. Note Candidates not possessing a credit in English Language at the Cambridge School Certificate will also be considered provided they possess passes in at least two subjects at “Principal Level” and one subject at “Subsidiary Level” as well as the General Paper obtained on one certificate at the Cambridge Higher School Certificate Examination. B. To be responsible for the proper maintenance and minor repairs of computers and liaise with suppliers for repairs and maintenance. 3. To assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of databases and the management of the IT system. 4. To devise appropriate systems of security in relation to hardware and software. 5. To prepare specifications and to advise on the purchase of computers, printers and spare parts for computers. 6. To provide technical guidance and support to users and perform first level troubleshooting of IT infrastructure (hardware, software and network). 7. To assist in the management and administration of the Authority’s network. 8. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Computer Technician in the roles ascribed to him.
