ROAD DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY SURVEY TECHNICIAN Qualifications: A. Cambridge School Certificate with credit in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Physics obtained at not more than two sittings or Passes not below Grade C in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Physics obtained at not more than two sittings at the General Certificate of Education “Ordinary Level” provided that at one of the sittings, passes have been obtained either (i) in five subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any two subjects or in six subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any one subject. Note Candidates not possessing a credit in English Language at the Cambridge School Certificate will also be considered provided they possess passes in at least two subjects at “Principal Level” and one subject at “Subsidiary Level” as well as the General Paper obtained on one certificate at the Cambridge Higher School Certificate Examinations. B. A Cambridge Higher School Certificate with passes at “Principal Level” in Mathematics and Physics obtained on one certificate or Passes in Mathematics and Physics obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education “Advanced Level”. OR Equivalent qualifications to A and B above acceptable to the Board. Candidates should be computer literate. C. Qualification at A above should have been obtained prior to qualification at B above. To perform field works concerned with the updating of existing plans in respect of land acquired. 2. To maintain records concerned with surveys including field completion on plans and revision surveys of existing plans. 3. To perform field works related to land acquisition. 4. To carry out searches at the Registrar-General’s Department and the Archives for data acquisition regarding land ownership. 5. To ensure that acquisitions are not obstructed by buildings or trees, and that boundary stones are not tampered with by neighbouring private owners. 6. To cause boundary lines to be kept open. 7. To report any case of encroachment and squatting on land acquired. 8. To assist Surveyors in the performance of their duties. 9. To supervise the work of Head Survey Field Workers and Survey Field Workers/Senior Survey Field Workers. 10. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Survey Technician in the roles ascribed to him.
