Australian & New Zealand - Lung Cancer Nurses Forum CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Steering Committee Lung Foundation Australia has the great pleasure in inviting you to express your interest in the Australia & New Zealand - Lung Cancer Nurses Forum (ANZ-LCNF) for the following positions to establish a Steering Committee that will responsible for providing guidance on overall strategic direction of the ANZ-LCNF. Expressions of interest can be submitted from Nurses who either have a vast interest in, or who work/care for patients with lung cancer and/or Mesothelioma – whether that is a Research Nurse/Lung Cancer Nurse Coordinator/Radiation Oncology/Education /Medical/Oncology /Palliative Care/Research/etc or within a multi-disciplinary team. Preference will be to nurses who have a direct influence over patient care. Statement of Purpose The ANZ-LCNF has been established to provide a forum for specialist nurses working with people affected by lung cancer/mesothelioma to promote a standardised, evidence-based approach to care delivery for all people. Objectives The initial objectives of the ANZ-LCNF special interest group are to: Develop educational resources for patients, their families and carers Develop lung cancer/Mesothelioma educational resources for nurses Establish a communication forum for nurses working in lung cancer/mesothelioma care Encourage the use of research based approaches in the delivery of patient care Provide members with opportunities for networking, support and education Contribute to a national voice on strategic and clinically relevant issues in the care of people affected by lung cancer and mesothelioma Commitment Communications predominately via email Minimum of 4 Committee teleconferences a year If possible, one face to face Steering Committee meeting shall be scheduled annually Annual Members’ meeting – ALCC or CNSA Positions Available Chairperson & Deputy Chairperson Australian State Representatives: QLD , NSW , VIC , SA , WA , TAS , NT , ACT New Zealand Representative: North Island, South Island Note: A Chairperson/deputy may fill two positions and can also be the State Representative. Where possible an individual shall hold joint LCNF/CNSA membership. Eligibility & Required Documents In order to be eligible to express interest in one of the above mentioned positions you will be/need: a qualified Nurse either have a vast interest in, or who work/care for patients with lung cancer/Mesothelioma Brief Bio (1page) Endorsement by Nurse Director and/or Lead MDT Clinician Process You will need to complete an Expression of Interest form (attached) clearly stating which position you are applying for and your application must be endorsed/seconded.
