Box 47 911 Fuller Winfield, Ks 67156 E-Mail: jmoore@cowleycounty.or Remains discovered on March 11, 2013 On March 11th of 2013, human skeletal remains were found in the 7000 block of 146th Road northwest of Winfield, Kansas near the railroad right of way. Found near the remains was a hospital issued wrist band dated September 9, 2012 with the name “Adam Miller”. D.N.A testing has been completed and the identity of the skeletal remains have been confirmed to be Adam Tyler Miller, a white male, 38 years old. After examination, forensic scientists were unable to detect any evidence of foul play from those skeletal remains. It is known that a “Adam Tyler Miller” was in the Arkansas City and Winfield area at that time. He had been cited or arrested for criminal trespass on railroad property in Arkansas City. The first incident occurred on September 9, 2012 where he was cited and the second on September 12, 2012, when he was arrested and booked into the Cowley County Jail. Railroad officials reported that they had two prior contacts with Adam Miller on railroad property or trains. On both of those incidents he listed himself as homeless. During his booking admission at the Cowley County Jail, he also self-reported several significant health problems. On the September 12, incident he was released on an O.R. bond through Arkansas City Municipal Court at 5:56 p.m. and left the Cowley County Jail. There were no further contacts with law enforcement after his release. Subsequent investigation revealed he was from the Albuquerque, New Mexico area and had family members in that area. He left there approximately five years ago and there had been no contact with him and those family members since. Sheriff’s Investigators would still like to talk with anyone who has information about him or his movements since September 12, 2012.
