Dear Tampa Prep Parent:
Your Upper School child is invited to the Tampa Prep 2015 Homecoming Dance. Hosted by Student Council, the dance
will be on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Hilton Hotel Tampa Downtown from 7:00-11:00pm. Tickets cost $40/person
in advance and $45/person at the door. Tickets may be purchased at school beginning today. Forms of payment
accepted for tickets include cash, check (made payable to Tampa Preparatory School) or charge to the student account.
The deadline for purchasing tickets prior to the night of the dance is Thursday, October 1, 2015. Students must return a
signed copy of this letter when purchasing tickets for this event. For your convenience, a copy of this letter has been
posted on the Tampa Prep website at www.tampaprep.org.
The hope of the Tampa Prep administration, faculty and staff is that the Homecoming Dance will be a safe and positive
experience for everyone in attendance. The expectation is that everyone attending the Homecoming Dance, Tampa Prep
students and outside guests alike, will adhere to all school rules. Students who bring a date from another school are
responsible for their guests' behavior. Any major rule violations will be dealt with as if the incident occurred at school.
There will be no refunds given to students sent home from the event.
The school will respond to any student arriving at the event either having consumed alcohol and/or drugs, or appearing
to have done so. The administrators on duty at the dance will have a breathalyzer at their disposal. If a student appears
to be under the influence of alcohol, we will ask that he or she blow into the tool. As in years past, there will be random
breathalyzer tests during check-in as well. If a student has a positive result, parents will receive a phone call and be
required to pick up their child.
Parent support in creating an enjoyable evening is crucial to the success of the Homecoming Dance. Please discuss the
points in this letter with your child before agreeing to allow him or her to attend the event.
