Due to the extensive amount of material covered in AP U.S. History, students registered
for this course at Tampa Prep will need to read the first four chapters of the textbook,
An Unfinished Nation: A Concise History of the American People, 6th edition (by Alan
Brinkley) prior to the first day of classes.

If you are a new student to Tampa Prep and you have ordered your iPad through the
school, you may not receive your iPad until the week before classes begin (in August). It
may therefore be difficult for you to obtain an eBook version of the text with enough time
to complete the summer reading assignment. If this is the case, please contact me at
dsmith@tampaprep.org so that I can arrange for a copy to be made available to you over
the summer.
Students should take notes and / or complete the Study Guides (found at the APUSH

under the page titled “Study Guides.”
There WILL be a test when you get back to school, so be prepared and study for detail.
