School is keeping all of us busy! I am sorry I haven’t gotten this sheet out for two weeks… Life has a
way of being hectic, with illness and being out for a three-day training. But, we’re back in business! We have
started a new theme for language arts called “Discovering Ancient Cultures” which ties into our history nicely.
This next story is all about the Great Wall of China. In our history class, we are wrapping up ancient Israel
and moving onto ancient India. As a culminating activity for the end of the India Unit, the entire sixth grade
will be embarking on an exciting activity that involves a mock court trial. All students will have a job and then
we will tape our “court proceedings.”
In math, we are wrapping up our unit on Algebra (although we will continually come back to it). Our next
unit is mostly on Probability. In science, we are beginning to study volcanoes, which is always a fun topic.
Report Cards are going out March 9th. This weekend, I will be grading, grading, and then grading some
more. I will be giving out a grade printout to your son or daughter on Monday. If they have any missing work
or makeup assignments, make sure they turn it in by Friday, March 2nd for credit. No work will be accepted
after that point for the Second Trimester.

- Star Student Assembly, Thursday, March 1st
- Unit 6 Test: Thursday, March 1st
