Course Objective
Students will have knowledge about important methods and approaches in ELT: natural
approach, content-based approach, task-based approach, participatory approaches, whole
language approach, cooperative learning, learning strategy training and multiple intelligences.

Course Description: This course will focus on current issues and practices in ELT course design, appropriate
approaches suitable to learner needs based on current distinctions such as ESL, EFL, EIL, ESP, EAP; current foreign
language teaching trends such as content-based instruction, task-based approach, multiple intelligences, whole language
approach to teaching and learning; culture and classroom second/ foreign language learning, technology use in language
classrooms, and communicative and intercultural competencies for the language learner and teacher of the globalized
world.
