Controls
A spark/Arc could cause an explosion of
the battery gasses.
Follow established procedures as described in step 1.
IF THE AUTO-SCRUBBER
BATTERY IS PLUGGED IN...

Unplug the charger from the
wall...--Then...--Unplug the
charger from the battery.
CHECKING THE BATTERIES
Personal protective equipment (PPE) should include the following;
goggles and gloves for checking the battery section.

Gain access to the battery
compartment by releasing
battery compartment securing
clamp. Lift the housing to gain
access to the batteries.

Remove the cell covers from the
batteries
Burn-Chemical

Check the level of water in the
batteries and add distilled water
if necessary
Spill

Clean batteries
Assess muscle strength, make sure excess water has been drained
from the machine to reduce the weight.
Follow established procedures, use a funnel.

Lower the housing back over the
batteries and clamp it in place.
DRIVE-BLOCK AND PAD

Remove the drive-block by
grasping it firmly and rotating it
quickly in a counterclockwise
direction.
Muscle Strain
Follow established procedures,

Clean both the drive-block and
the pad...DAILY!
Equipment Damage, premature wear will
occur if drive-block and pad are not
cleaned daily.

Replace the pad and drive-block
by rotating in a clockwise
direction.

CHECK THE FILTER

Locate and remove the filter
Chemical-Corrosive--Chemical-Irritant-Chemical-Toxic
Personal protective equipment (PPE) should include the following;
gloves

Examine the filter to determine if
it needs to be replaced
Equipment Damage, a dirty filter will
prevent proper flow, a damaged filter will
allow grit, etc. to enter the system.
Replace if necessary
EXAMINE THE SQUEEGEE

Check the squeegee to make
sure it is clean. This will help
prevent "streaking" the floor
when washing it.
WASHING THE FLOOR

Make sure the floor to be
washed has been swept.
Sweeping the floor properly will
help prevent streaking as well as
prolong the life of the autoscrubber.

Fill the clean water tank with hot
water from the tap, using a hose

Following JHA #27 "Decanting
Chemicals" procedure add the
correct amount of cleaning
solution to the clean water tank

Lower brush to floor, turn on the
vacuum, open the water release
valve, turn on the brush.
Damage to floor tile.
Follow established procedures in the order specified in step 17 and
make sure the machine is moving forward whenever the brush motor
is engaged.

Wash the floor
Slip--Fall
Personal protective equipment (PPE) should include the following;
slip resistant footwear--Set up "Wet floor" signs

Disengage and raise the brush,
stop the water flow and turn off
the vacuum.

After the floor has been washed
empty the dirty water into the
slop sink. If you do not have a
slop sink use a bucket.

Remove and clean the
squeegee--

Park the auto-scrubber--Plug the
battery into the charger.--Plug
the charger into the wall.

Electrocution--Spark/Arc
Follow established procedures using the correct order of steps.--Make
sure the plug is grounded
