Omaha Press Club “Multi-Media” Membership Category The Omaha Press Club is offering a new “Multi-Media” Membership Category, beginning in July 2010. The category is open to participating media outlets/media organizations that are interested in sponsoring an Omaha Press Club membership for eligible employees. Organizational dues are based on the number of “multi-media members” enrolled: 1-20 multi-media members $500/year 21-50 multi-media members $1,000/year 51-100 multi-media members $2,000/year Organizational dues can be paid annually or semi-annually (two payments). The annual dues must be paid by the sponsoring media organization, not by individual members. Multi-media memberships are available to all company employees (part-time and full-time), not just journalists or broadcasters. Other eligible employees include (but are not limited to) executives, sales personnel, administrative staff, technical staff, information technology workers, and engineers. The participating media outlet will submit the names and contact information of designated media members, and each individual will receive a membership card and individual membership account. It is suggested that the organization review this list quarterly; however, individual names may be added or deleted at any time. The individual must be employed by the participating organization to retain an individual multi-media membership through that media outlet. Individuals who leave the organization can be transitioned to another Omaha Press Club membership category in order to retain their membership. The designated employee will receive monthly statements for any food/beverage charges incurred during the billing period. Payment can also be made by cash, check or credit card at the club at the time of utilization. There is no food and beverage minimum requirement for members in the multi-media category; however, regular club utilization is encouraged. Each participating organization is encouraged to appoint an ambassador to spearhead the membership campaign internally (and we will send this person information about upcoming OPC events as well for distribution through in-house promotional vehicles too). Benefits to Participating Media Outlets and Media Organizations: • Continuing education and networking opportunities for your employees or members (an employee or member retention device). • Free room rental for organization events. • Prestige for your employees and/or members to belong to a media-affiliated organization. • Reciprocity with private clubs, including the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. • Discounted entry fees for the Omaha Press Club Excellence in Journalism awards contest. • Member rates for Omaha Press Club events (Winemaker’s Dinners, Face on the Barroom Floor, etc.) Benefits to Multi-Media Members: • Access to social opportunities for networking and fun. • Invitations to monthly luncheon forums with community leaders, authors, film producers and other news makers. • Professional development opportunities featuring leading local and national communications experts. • Prestige of membership in a private club. Use the club to entertain associates, conduct interviews, or bring your family and friends up to dine and enjoy OPC events. • Free parking at the DoubleTree Hotel Garage (up to 2 hours for lunch; up to 4 hours for dinner) with a validated parking slip. • Members can participate in the Omaha Press Club Show. • First opportunity to purchase tickets to the annual Omaha Press Club Show, one of the premier social events in Omaha. • Free access to monthly newsletter, “Beyond 30” • Special events throughout the year, including “Face on the Barroom Floor” presentations, Sunday brunches on selected dates, and music/entertainment nights. Notes: The category was created as a pilot program in July 2010 and new media outlets may join through June 30, 2011. After that time, the category will be assessed, and may be restructured or simply renewed as is. Participating organizations using this category will be able to continue in this, or a similar membership category; however, new organizations joining after that date may be subject to different dues or membership requirements. The same guidelines/restrictions that apply to traditional corporate memberships will apply to the media corporate memberships. Additional clarification of program rules may be required during the pilot program. Thank you for your participation!
