I was one of two Literature Coordinators for the 1987 – 89 NEH curriculum development grant for “the integration of the history, literature, and philosophy components of a new general education curriculum” and have also served on two Provost Search Committees (1980 and 1996). In Bombay in 1995 she was presented the Jamnalal Bajaj International Award for Promoting Gandhian Values outside India by the Dalai Lama. For thirteen years we have shared interests in international understanding, East-West encounters, and horsemanship.
