Tennis Turkey Tournaments 2013
The Tennis Committee planned 4 turkey tournaments this year on the 5th, 10th, 15th
and 20th December.
The 5th & 10th were well attended with 21 and 16 respectively playing but the
threatening skies meant that only 8 hardy souls braved the conditions on Sunday, 15th.
Friday, 20th was even worse with a storm force wind and driving rain so it had to be
cancelled. The fact that it was the Club Christmas Party night appeased the eager
tennis cohort who joined in the fun on the night and partied ‘til late.
Winners were Sarah Egan, Jody Kehoe and Shane Jenkins with Jody’s wife Catherine
and Shane’s Mam Val runners up along with Christine Hore – no relation of Sarah!
Well done to everybody who took part and Happy Christmas and New Year to one
and all.
