Media Release Wednesday, 27 August 2014 Love our local pools? Have your say! Council has prepared the draft Aquatic Leisure Centre Plan to capture our vision for aquatic leisure in Moonee Valley. Moonee Valley Mayor, Cr Jan Chantry, said Council is now calling on the local community to have their say on the draft Aquatic Leisure Centre Plan. “Love to swim in our local pools? Then we’re calling on you to have your say on their future in this draft plan,” said Cr Chantry. “People use our aquatic leisure centres in so many different ways, whether it’s through gentle water exercise for rehabilitation, or working out in the in the gym, our local leisure centres play a very important role in the lives of our community. “By having your say on the draft plan you’re helping to guide Council’s investment in aquatic leisure centres in coming years,” added Cr Chantry. Council’s portfolio holder for Leisure and Recreation, Cr John Sipek, thanked those in the community that had provided feedback late last year and earlier this year on sport and leisure in Moonee Valley “Council received 900 completed surveys during our earlier consultation on sport and leisure in Moonee Valley – an excellent amount of feedback! “Council has used this feedback to guide development of the draft Aquatic Leisure Centre Plan, now we’re calling on the community to check the draft plan and to make sure we’ve got it right,” added Cr Sipek.
