Veterinary Instrumentation is pleased to offer the well established Arthrex AR-6450 continuous wave
arthroscopy infusion pump. The pump will be available on a free loan to practices willing to commit to
a minimum purchase of 2 of the above tube sets when the pump is ordered and regular tube set orders
from us thereafter.
The specification of the pump is attached and can be used in both equine and small animal practice.
Both line pressure and flow rate are defined by the user and displayed continuously. The line pressure
range of 0-255mmHg may be of interest to equine arthroscopy users where pressures higher than those
used in the human are often required. Many other pumps do not offer these higher pressure levels.
Where more than four procedures are performed per day we advise using a single machine tube set for
the pump and disposable patient tube sets, which for four procedures would make the unit cost
approximately per procedure £16. Where a single procedure is envisaged a combined machine/patient
set is recommended at a unit cost of approximately £24.50 per procedure.
Current equine users include Rossdale & Partners and O’Gorman, Slater & Main and current small
animal users include Davies Veterinary Specialists and Liverpool University.
