BRUCE Databases
Viclink and the Gulliver committee
present a range of database options
for any library in Australia and New
Zealand
BRUCE - Bibliographic Resources under a consortia environment.
The Gulliver Committee is proud to present BRUCE. BRUCE offers
libraries a choice of databases beyond the core group provided through
Gulliver or any other consortia arrangement. Libraries can pick and choose
databases that complement their collection.
Any library in Australia and New Zealand can join Bruce. There is a small
joining fee of $250.00 for non Gulliver members.
Each database has been evaluated using our established criteria and pricing
has been obtained. Pricing is based on the number of libraries who choose a
database. The price of course is less if more libraries choose it.
Attached is a synopsis of each database on offer and pricing.
Libraries who are interested in joining BRUCE can nominate which
databases they want and the vendor will individually invoice each library.
Access is via IP, password or referring web page, all databases enable
remote access and statistics will be available. Subscriptions will not
commence until 1st July 2002. All prices are GST exclusive.
Please contact any member of the Gulliver committee to register your
interest. More information can be obtained from

About the Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia
The Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia is based on the text of the Academic American
Encyclopedia. First published in 1980, the latter quickly established itself as a highly respected
reference work, combining unequaled currency with an authoritativeness equal to that of more
venerable encyclopedias. The Academic American was the first encyclopedia to make its text
available online, and it was the first to be released on a CD-ROM, which evolved into the Grolier
Multimedia Encyclopedia. Now, the Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia is available directly on the
World Wide Web, containing thousands of new and expanded articles, extensive hyperlinking,
bibliographies and links to other sources of information on the Web. The Grolier Multimedia
Encyclopedia Online is updated monthly.
