The building of theYellow Castle was begun at the beginning of the 18th century and was finished in 1770. In 1858 Arpad Ipolyi wrote the following about this Castle in the series of his articles called Corn Island Pictures on the pages of Sunday Paper: “‘‘Besides the newer and more beautiful houses of this small town, there is an older sight, the castle of the Kondes in Pokatelek. ... Bishop Konde had the house built rather nicely according to the mansard taste of the last century for his famous family.” The originally baroque style of the castle was converted into classicism in the beginning of the 19th century. It is a twostorey building divided by wooden pillars and a central vertical protrusion starting from the bottom of the front of the building and ending in a baroque apex. Besides the portal with a semicircular arch the facade is also broken by rectangular windows and straight and arched ledges. Between 1970-72 the Csallokozi Museum was moved here from another important castle in Dunaszerdahely known as the White Castle, where the Museum was established in 1964. Moric Bacsak had the White Castle built. It was an example of late classicism built in the end of the 19th century. This two-storey building with square windows and various vertical protrusions on its outside was pulled down after the relocation of the Museum.
