(1) Increased my awareness of my own strengths and areas of growth
Q: Explain how you have recognised your strengths and weaknesses.
Since I was the organisator of this activity this was a challenge for me. This was the first time I
was orginising something and I discovered that I am fast thinker and that I am capable of
achieving everything I imagined. I increased my awareness of my organizing and coordinating
skills, as well as my creativity.
(2) Undertaken new challenges.
Q: Explain how this challenge was new to you. Why was it a challenge?
This event is the first of this kind to be held in our school. It was a challenge to get people to
come. I was afraid that the appearance would be low but it turned out to be great. It was also
quite a challenge because I was responsible for everything, for decorations, for tables and chairs,
for music, for posters. It was stressful but I decided to strive for it and I managed to pull it off.
The decorations were amazing and there were enough chairs and tables for everyone to come.
(3) Planned and initiated activities
Q: How were you involved in planning this activity, rather than participation alone? Give
examples.

I was the one that came up with this idea and I organized the event. I didn’t participate; I just
coordinated people and my volunteers. I planned the activity.
(4) Worked collaboratively with others
Q: Assess your ability to work in a team. Provide examples of collaboration.
I worked collaboratively with my friends from the class in making the decorations for the event.
We stayed after class and we were tired and everyone said that I am good team worker because I
was the elevator or motivation with my ideas. Also, at the day of the event we worked together in
order for everything to be great. We prepared everything, showed people where to go, someone
was a stopwatch and it was really good.
(5) Shown perseverance and commitment in this activity
Q: How have you demonstrated a sustained commitment to the activity?
I showed perseverance and commitment in organisation. It was not so easy because I had to do
my school work as well as this. I had to prepare everything, to get permission from our school
principle, to decide about the outlook of the event. How will the event go and what are people
supposed to do and to always be ready for something to come up unexpected. I can say that I
took it very seriously and I managed to put all the pieces together into a beautiful event.
(6) Engaged with issues of global importance
Q: How do you feel you have made a difference to the wider (International) community?
Give examples.
What the message of this activity was is that love is still here. People are so busy and there is no
time for romance or for love. Everything is done online. People are meeting trough Skype,
Facebook or other social networks. I wanted to show people that live communication is better
than online. I know that this problem is same in my city as well as in other parts or the world.
(7) Considered the ethical implications of my actions
Q: What ethical considerations did you have to be aware about during the activity and how
did you overcome any issues?

(8) Developed new skills
Q: Describe any new skills that you have attained during the course of the activity.
I developed my orginising and coordinator skills. I have never managed to put these skills into
practice until now. So this is a new experience for me.

REFLECTION STATEMENT: This was the first time Speed Dating was organised in our
school. I organized it together with the help of my classmates. This was a new experience for us

and I really enjoyed it. I imagined the event to be held in our classroom and I designed the
decorations. I also told everyone else who volunteered to help me to give their ideas about the
decorations. The making of decorations was really fun. We had a lot of ides popping into our
heads; I was surprised how creative I was. The event was great. Therefore I am a good
ogranisatior because I managed to make all in time and it all went great I was really afraid that
there wouldn’t be enough participants or that I won’t have enough tables for all of them.
However, it all went fine and I found out that all my hard work has paid off. I do not know how
but there were exactly places available as the number of participants who came. People were
very happy and satisfied and they all said that Speed dating was a great idea and that they would
love that it is organized more often. All of my classmates that helped me with this event told me
that they really enjoyed working with me and I am very glad because of that. This activity has
helped me to find out more about myself and my strengths. I found out that I am really persistent
and hardworking and this will benefit me future in life. The event was really successful because
we managed to connect two couples and I am so proud because of that. Even our teachers said
that the design and the atmosphere of the event were amazing. I really hope that this activity will
happen again. I will try to work on orginising Speed Dating but for bigger crowd. I want to make
it for everyone in the city, not just for the students of our school like this were. This is even
bigger challenge.
