Who is the
speaker/audience?
• Speaker- A journalist who is trying to warn the
readers of the problems online dating can
cause
• Audience- Our generation. Our parents did not
have access to meeting people through the
internet. People ages 20 and younger grew up
with a rapid expansion of technology which
has allowed us to meet others over the
computer.
Author’s Purpose
• Purpose- She wanted to educate today’s
generation of the problems and warnings of
online dating
• She got her point across by using real life
examples and studies
• Tone- conversational, yet serious
