Mathematics Textbook List

The NAD Mathematics Textbook Review Committee which met in June, 2012, was composed of five math teachers and union secondary leaders considered textbooks from two publishers. Materials for consideration were presented by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and McGraw Hill Glencoe. The NAD

Curriculum Committee has accepted the recommendation and publishes the following list of approved mathematics textbooks. Mathematics textbooks were previously reviewed and adopted in 2002 & 2007.

Committee Observations:

Texts are aligned with Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

Companies offer a wide range of online and digital resources. eBooks / iBooks are available for Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2.

Texts are listed in order of preference by this committee.

Glencoe textbooks were preferred for their content, sequencing, and emphasis on review.

HMH—Larson series targets average to advanced students (e.g. Algebra 2 begins with quadratics).

HMH—Larson also offers a CD which includes a digital function graphing calculator.

HMH—Burger series has some non-traditional sequencing and concept combinations.

HMH—Burger offers a wide variety of electronic resources (e.g. video tutorials for every example).

Approved Textbooks:
