JOB DESCRIPTION PRINCIPAL GEOSCIENTIST/SME The Company With 15 offices in 5 continents, Ikon Science is the fastest-growing leader in GeoPrediction Technology & Solutions to the oil and gas industry, providing a quantitative prediction of results before drilling occurs. We develop and deliver RokDoc software, QI services, GeoPressure & GeoMechanics consultancy and Regional studies, with a fresh and flexible scientific approach to create subsurface value. The Role Reports to QIS Manager Remit is to carry out Geoscience projects under the direction of the QIS Manager, in a timely and profitable manner. Quantitative Interpretation of seismic encompasses Geophysics, Petrophysics, Geology and Reservoir Engineering disciplines. Activities include: rock physics, velocity modeling, well-toseismic interpretation, acoustic rock and fluid properties analysis, reservoir property modeling, amplitude and AVO assessment, volume interpretation, seismic inversion, pore-pressure prediction and integration with other geophysical techniques such as EM. The QI team performs exploration, appraisal and development related reservoir and fluid prediction services for many International clients. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Working in a team to complete projects to client requirement and to high technical standard 2. Peer review and mentoring 3. Direct contribution and influence on SW development and strategy pertaining to performance of the QI and greater Ikon group 4. Advanced interpretation of well log data 5. Maintenance of project database 6. Seismic analysis QC, conditioning and interpretation 7. Perform expert Rock Physics analysis and provide mentoring 8. Deliver Ikon Science RP training 9. Perform seismic inversion for reservoir characterisation 10. Deliver high quality presentations and reports to clients 11. Able to work in a team Work to a deadline Excellent communication and presentation skills with clients and managers Technical excellence Creative and passionate Proficient in MS Office Knowledge of Ikon Science software, HR, Kingdom, Petrel, VoxelGeo, Geolog, GeoProbe Experience and Qualifications Extensive oil industry experience (North Sea and EAME) BSc / Msc/ PhD in one of the following disciplines: Geology, Earth Sciences, Geophysics, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering Extensive experience as a geophysicist/interpreter Extensive knowledge of theory and application of Rock Physics and AVO Working knowledge and understanding of regional geology, geophysics, petrophysics and basic reservoir engineering concepts Other 1.
