Today is Pi Day! Help us celebrate our favorite irrational number! (An irrational number is a decimal number whose digits go on forever, never repeating a pattern.) Meet at the rally platform at SNACK today to watch the Pi memorization contest. How do some other people celebrate Pi Day? At the Exploratorium in San Francisco, a crowd gathers and circumambulates (walks around) a "pi shrine" (a small brass plate) 3.14 times (well, approximately 3.14 times). They also add more beads to a ritual bead string--now up to more than 1600 beads--where each bead represents a different digit of pi. And, of course, they eat pie. Happy Pi Day to you all!
