TOPICAL HARBOUR ISSUES
Report by Salcombe Harbour Master and Marine Conservation Officer
(Corporate Plan Pages - Various)
Financial Implications: None.
Municipal Ports Review
1.
On 10 October 2001, the Harbour Master received notification from the British Ports
Association that the DTLR has, for the time being at least, put the review of Ports and
Harbours in the Municipal Sector on hold. The reasons given by the Ports Division of
the DTLR is both the permanent loss of staff and the transfer of staff to other areas of
the Department in the light of the present global uncertainties. The Harbour Master
will advise the Board accordingly should the review recommence in the future.
Marine Conservation Officer’s Report
2.
Nothing significant to report since the last meeting.
RECOMMENDATION
That the Board RESOLVES to note the report.
