Dear Grade 9 Parents/Guardians:
It is hard to believe it is that time of year already, but the registration process for high school is about to begin!
On December 17th, 2015, our grade 9 students attended a course selection fair at Cole Harbour District High School. At
that time, students were given an orientation to high school and were given a copy of the CHDHS Course Selection
Guide. This booklet is printed on green paper and students were asked to take it home to review course and program
offerings. If you have not had a chance to review this information with your student as of yet, I encourage you to do so.
The Course Selection Guide outlines graduation requirements, the semestering system, program offerings, and other
important information to ease in the transition to high school. I was not provided with extra copies of this booklet;
however, I have requested a PDF version. I will upload it to the SRB website as soon as I receive it.
Also, please find a tentative timeline for high school course selection for your student on the reverse side of this letter.
Some dates are to be confirmed at this time, but this will provide a guideline of what to expect in the upcoming months.
Please take note of the Parent Information Session being offered on January 12, 2016 at Cole Harbour District High
School. I strongly encourage you to attend this session.
