Weekend Shipping Report - Sharing and Protecting the Working Harbour and Bay Saturday, 15 June 2002 Sydney Ports’ Harbour Master, Bart Pacheco, said this weekend there are expected to be some 28 vessel movements in and out of the ports. “For people planning a weekend on Sydney Harbour or Botany Bay, a timely reminder for those on the water to stay clear of cargo vessels in shipping channels as ships have right of way and cannot easily manoeuvre,” Harbour Master Pacheco said. “Sydney Ports, as part of its key role to protect the marine environment and provide for the navigation and safety needs of the commercial shipping industry, encourages the community to be mindful that the twin working ports are available to all users to share and enjoy,” he said.
