Commencement of the Construction Works :Loan Agreement was signed between Nordea Bank, Denmark and Ministry
of Finance & Planning of Sri Lanka on 23rd May 2008.
Contract Agreement between Sri Lanka Ports Authority & M/s MTHojgaard
a/s, the Contractor was signed on 20th June 2008.
Project construction was commenced on 01st July 2008.

Land Acquisition and Purchasing :-
The acquisition & purchasing of lands for the project was completed.
State lands 11 lots and 49 lots of private lands under acquisition are in
process by Divisional Secretary, Addalachchenei.

Compensation to Fishmermen :-
Compensation payments to 806 beneficiaries have been made through the
Peoples’ Bank, Addalachchenei.

Quarry Operations at Piyangala Quarry Site :-
The quarry was handed over back to the Forest Department, Ampara
after the obtaining of required rock/ boulders quantities.
