The La3+/Zr4+ molar ratios of the precipitating preparation were varied at 25:75, 50:50 and 75:25 namely as PxLa-ZrO2 of which x is number of La3+ percentage. In case of impregnation, only two different La3+/Zr4+ molar ratios were chosen at 25:75 and 50:50 because of a limitation of as-synthesized zirconium hydroxide pore volume and the synthesized oxide was named as IxLa-ZrO2. The mixed oxide was characterized by means of X-ray diffraction, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, NH3 temperature programmed desorption, CO2 temperature programmed desorption and Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) in comparison with results of pure ZrO2 and pure La2O3. The results indicated that amount of La3+ and the preparation methods have an effect on specific surface areas, phases, phase transformation and the number of acid and base sites and their strengths. P25La-ZrO2 and pure ZrO2 contained mixed phases of monoclinic and tetragonal. Amorphous mixed oxides were obtained with additional La3+ content higher Contact Us Visits Of this Page 0 Conference Name Duration Publishing Year Article Type Added Date than 25% and I25La-ZrO2 exhibited only tetragonal phase. Surface areas of precipitated oxide distinctly decreased ~60-90% compared to the pure oxide. Acid and base properties of the mixed oxide were measured by means of NH3 and CO2 TPD, respectively. The mixed oxide possessed the number of acid and base sites higher than those of pure ZrO2 at ~2070%. Their acidic and basic desorption temperatures were increased to 380-450 ºC and 400-500ºC, respectively. It may conclude that acid and base strengths of the mixed oxide were in range of pure ZrO2 and pure La2O3 strengths : Tenth International Symposium on Heterogeneous Catalysis : From : 22/8/1429 AH - To : 26/8/1429 AH From : 23/8/2008 AD - To : 27/8/2008 AD : 1429 AH 2008 AD : Article : Tuesday, February 17, 2009 Researchers Researcher Name Researcher Name Researcher Dr Email (Arabic) (English) Type Grade S.
