Scene One
Narrator: Once upon a time, in two different kingdoms lived two stepmother queens
who each had a stepdaughter princess named Snow White and Snow Black.
When the princesses grew up, there was a great difference between them.
(Snow White and Snow Black both looking in the mirror)
Snow White: (In rags) My stepmother, Queen of this kingdom, is really the most
beautiful lady in the world. How I wish I could grow up to be like
her.
Snow Black: (In a beautiful gown) Oh, just look at me. I am sure no one in this
world, not even my stepmother, is more beautiful than me!
Narrator: However both queens have very different ideas about their princesses, too.
Queen(White): (Walks to Snow White and takes the mirror) You are too beautiful!
If you stay here, you will surely become the most beautiful lady in
the world one day. I will never let that happen. Get out of my
sight right now and never let me see you again!
(Snow White runs off the stage crying)
Queen(White): (Looks in the mirror) Now I will be the most beautiful woman in
the world! Ha, ha, ha!
Queen(Black): (Walks to Snow Black) I have never mistreated you, I just don’t
understand how you could become so…(shakes her head) You are
such a disgrace to this kingdom! Never let me see you again.
(Snow Black shoves the mirror to Queen and walks off the stage angrily)
Queen(Black): (Holding the mirror) At last, she is gone. The sight of her really
damages everyone’s eyes.
Scene Two
Narrator: Snow White and Snow Black wandered off by themselves into the big
forest. The most unexpected thing happened…they bumped into each
other!
(Snow White and Snow Black see each other and do the same actions like in a mirror)
Snow Black: Why is there a mirror here? Oh, look at me. I am so beautiful and slim.
No wonder my stepmother is so jealous of me.
Snow White: Excuse me, my name is Snow White. Who are you?
Snow Black: Oh, you are real. I thought you were my reflection. My name is Snow
Black. (To the audience) I just knew it, how could my own reflection
be uglier than me?
Snow White: Looks like we are both alone in this forest. Let’s keep each other
company. We will be much safer together.
Snow Black: I don’t have any other choices, do I?
(Snow White and Snow Black walk off the stage.)
Scene Three
Narrator: Snow White and Snow Black wandered together for some time; the sky
turns dark. They came to a small cottage where two dwarfs lived.
Snow White: Let’s ask those nice men if we could stay at their cottage tonight. We
could help them do some housework in return.
Snow Black: Do SOME housework? Are you out of your mind? I am a princess.
How could I do SOME housework?
Snow White: I’ll do your share if you would just cooperate with me.
Snow Black: (Unwillingly) Well, I don’t suppose that will be too hard.
(Snow White and Snow Black walk to the dwarfs)
Dwarf1: What are two beautiful ladies like you doing out here in the forest?
Dwarf2: (Keeping his eye on Snow Black) Hello, beauty. What can we do for you?
Snow White: We are lost in this big forest and have no place to stay. Could we stay
here for the night?
Dwarf2: (Eyes still on Snow Black) Sure, no problem. You can stay as long as you
like.
Snow Black: Stop staring at me, you fool!
Dwarf1: (To Dwarf2) Hey, don’t scare the ladies away. (To the ladies) I’m very sorry,
we don’t often have visitors here. You are most welcome to stay.
Narrator: Days passed by. Every morning, the dwarfs left the cottage for work, and
Snow White did the housework and prepared the meals. (Snow White does
the chores; Snow Black picks up the broom and pretends to work hard when
the dwarfs come home) Back in the two palaces, the two queens were very
worried.
Queen(White): I should have killed that girl. She is going to become more and more
beautiful when she grows up. I have to think of something. Ah, I
know. (She takes out a banana from the table and pours some poison
on it) With just one bite and she will be history forever.
Queen(Black): I shouldn’t have chased her away. Who knows what might have
happened to that silly girl! I have to set off right away and find her
back.
Narrator: Both queens disguised themselves as old women and set off to find their
princesses. (Both queens walk off the stage)
Scene Four
Narrator: At the cottage, Snow White was doing the chores when her disguised
stepmother appeared.
Queen(White): Hello, young lady. Could you be so kind to give an old lady like me
a cool glass of water?
Snow White: Sure. You must be very tired. (Hands over a glass of water) Here
you go.
Queen(White): (Finishes the water and gives Snow White the banana) What a sweet
little girl you are. I have nothing to offer, please take this banana and I
will be on my way. (Hurries off the stage)
Snow White: Wait, I can’t…oh, well.
Snow Black: (Comes on the stage and takes away the banana) How could you enjoy
this banana by yourself? You look very busy now, I think I will help
you with this. (Peels the banana, takes a bite and falls onto the ground)
Snow White: Oh no.（walks off the stage）
Queen(Black): (Finds her way on the stage, sees Snow Black and kneels by her) My
princess! Who did this to you? If only I had walked faster…(sobs)
Maybe you are better off this way. May you rest in peace. (Walks off
the stage)
Dwarf1: We are home!
Dwarf2: What happened? Why is my beauty lying on the ground?
Snow White: (Enters. Sobbing, points to the banana) She ate that banana and
dropped dead. There’s nothing I could do!
Dwarf1: (Picks up the banana and smells it) This banana is poisoned!
Dwarf2: There must be some way to save her. I remember in fairy tales, Prince
Charming always appears at this kind of moment.
Snow White: But that only happens in fairy tales!
Dwarf1: Hey, look who’s here. It’s … a Prince!
(The prince walks on the stage)
Prince: I have come from a far away place in search of a lady who fits to be my
future queen. Do you gentlemen know where I could find such a lady?
Dwarf1: I think you are in the right place at the right time. We happen to have a
princess here who needs the kiss of a prince to wake her up.
Dwarf2: Are you out of your mind? I am not going to let anyone touch my beauty.
Prince: (Takes one look at Snow Black and almost throws up) I think you can keep
her to yourself. I am definitely UNqualified to kiss her. (Looks at Snow
White) However, this young lady here has caught my attention. Please
come with me to my palace.
Snow White: No, I’m not leaving Snow Black. She wouldn’t be dead if it weren’t for
me.
Dwarf1: (To Dwarf2) Why don’t you give it a try? Who knows? It might work.
Prince: That’s right. Sometimes, nothing is stronger than the power of true love.
Dwarf2: All right. (Wipes his mouth) Here I come. (Kisses Snow Black)
Snow Black: (Eyes still closed) Oh, is it my Prince Charming? Give me another kiss
and I will truly awake. (Dwarf2 kisses again, her eyes open and sees
him) WHAT! YOU… that was my first kiss! (Throws up)
Dwarf2: (Kneels down) Please be my bride and I will take care of you forever.
Snow Black: I won’t do the housework, I don’t want to have babies, I won’t go to
work…
Dwarf2: Whatever you say, my beauty.
Scene Five
Narrator: The two loving pairs married. When the wedding started, the two
stepmothers came to visit their stepdaughters, and they still have very different
thoughts about their stepdaughters.
Queen (White): How could this happen? I really, really should have killed her!
Queen (Black): Oh! I’m so glad she is still alive, and somebody actually wants her.
Narrator: And they lived happily ever after.
