1997 converted to LLC
Board consists of 13 physicians
GOALS





Regional participation
Democratic governance(one member, one vote)
Promote access to physician of choice
Facilitate managed care needs of regional employers
Centralized credentialing for contracts
MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES



Participating provider- physicians only. Initial credentialing fee of $150 then an annual
assessment of $150 per year thereafter. No recredentialing fee.
Equity member-Participating providers may also become equity members. $ 200 for PCP,
$ 400 for specialist. This is a one-time fee.
Preferred participating provider- non-physicians. Initial credentialing fee of $150 then an
annual assessment of $150 per year thereafter. No recredentialing fee.
Purchase Physicians’ Organization (PPO) relationship with Purchase Health Partners
(PHP)




PHP is a not for profit membership corporation, incorporated Aug. 13, 1996
Ownership of PHP is 50% PPO and 50% Western Baptist Hospital
Board representation is 3 physicians from PPO and 3 representatives from Western Baptist
Hospital. Issues decided by consensus.

 Physician claims recovery assistance with PHP contracts
 Contractual fee analysis
 Contract maintenance
 Payor/Contract Updates
 Quarterly office manager meetings/monthly communications
 Preferred Vendor Relationships(discount pricing for office needs)
 Educational programs for physicians and office staff
 Updates on legislative activities/ advocacy efforts where appropriate
