Eighth Grade Graduation Updates! Dear Parent/Guardian(s) & Students: 1. You may pick up your robes anytime after you receive & pay the bill. I encourage you to pick them up and try them on as soon as possible. That way if a mistake has been made in the size of robe or cap we can contact the company as soon as possible and get the proper size reordered. I would also suggest that you hang up the robe to get the wrinkles out. The robes can also be pressed easily. The robes look much better without the wrinkles! Ladies: You have a collar that comes with the robe. Please pin or stitch in place prior to Monday morning. This will save time and ensure that the collar is where you want it! 2. Rehearsal for graduation will be Monday, May 7 at 8:30 am. A class picture will be taken at 9:15 so it is extremely important that students arrive on time! Order forms & $10.00 are due the morning of rehearsal at 9:15. Students MUST have their robes, caps, and tassels & payment for the group picture. Bring your medals for All Four Quarters Honor Roll, Valedictorian and Salutatorian! 3. Students should be picked up following rehearsal no later than 11:00!! This is very important as decorating for the ceremony cannot begin until students are gone! 4. Graduation is May7 at 7:00 in the Junction Hill gym. Please have your graduates here by 6:30 at the latest! This will give us time to get robes on, get caps in place, and pin boutonnieres, etc. Please, please, please be sure to have your robe, cap, and tassel when you arrive the night for the graduation!!! Students are welcome to keep their robes at school in Ms. Rogers’ room or return the following morning. After graduation, be sure to put the cap and gown back in the plastic bag they came in. This will ensure that your gown is returned and credited to you. Again, these may be left in Ms. Rogers’ room after graduation. 5. A reminder that a reception for graduates and their families will be held immediately following the ceremony in the cafeteria. Please take a few minutes to join us for refreshments and pictures. 6. Junction Hill Alumni - After May 7, you will no longer be eighth graders! If you would like to return to Junction Hill after May 7 and walk its’ hallowed halls, you must have written permission from a teacher to return. If you plan on working with a specific teacher on a given day be sure to get written permission and turn this in to Ms. Miller’s office. Students will be the sole responsibility of the teacher who provides written permission – from the time the student arrives, the lunch period, etc. 7. Reminder! We will depart for Silver Dollar City at 6:30 am, on May 4. 8. Awards Day – Eighth grade graduates should arrive at school at 9:45, May 11 to receive awards in the Junction Hill gym. School will be dismissed at 11:45. Go 2012 Graduates!
