NORTHEAST® 2014 Educational Program Slate Announced
The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers/New Jersey (AASP/NJ) has
announced the slate for the Educational Program at the NORTHEAST 2014 Automotive
Services Show being held March 21, 22 and 23, 2014 at the Meadowlands Exposition
Center (MEC) in Secaucus, NJ. NORTHEAST 2014, the flagship event of the
association’s New Jersey affiliate (AASP/NJ), is celebrating its 37th year as the East
Coast’s preeminent automotive services trade show.
NORTHEAST 2014 has once again loaded up the slate with seminars touching on
just about every phase of the automotive repair process. Leading the pack is a panel
discussion/forum dealing with the collision industry’s number one topic: Parts
procurement. PartsTrader Comes to the Northeast: NOW WHAT? will include industry
veterans who have dealt with the program, association representatives who are finding
ways to combat insurer mandates and an open forum for attendees to present their views
and ask questions.
Unleashing Your Secret Power, presented John Niechwiadowicz is a must-attend
seminar dealing with the all-important Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), an integral
part of any successful business.
Aluminum Repair Body Shop Certification and Other Information, presented by
Ford, will cover details regarding repairing and certification for the 2015 F-150 (which
will be entirely comprised of high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy), which will
be unveiled at NORTHEAST 2014.
Tactically Lean: Connecting the Dots Between High-Minded Lean Concepts &
Real-World Results, presented by Sherwin-Williams, features tips on dealing with the
industry’s most impactful approach for collision center management, offering real world
implementation of all aspects of a “managed collision repair facility” from Keys to Keys,
Sales & Service to Delivery & Accounts/Receivables, and everything in-between.
Best Practices for Welding & Estimating, presented by Larry Montanez III, is an
eye-opening discussion on proper techniques and practices in MIG, MAG welding &
brazing. Real-life examples of both proper AND improper welds as well as tips and tricks
to ensure a quality repair every time will be explored. A must-see presentation for
technicians, estimators and shop owners.
The "Gauges" of Your Business, presented by Management Success is a lively and
fun presentation that will show you how to have an accurate system of tracking and
monitoring the key numbers across your business relating to marketing, sales, production,
quality control and profits. Understanding these numbers gives you a "gauge" of your
business. Once you know your starting point, you can learn how to make adjustments to
tremendously expand the success and profitability of your shop.
Business Continuation Planning: Inside Buying or Selling a Business, presented
by Mitchell H. Portnoi, Esq. & Douglas J. Sherman, Esq., will discuss important
information for both potential buyers and sellers, including various transaction structures,
buying or selling a business to/from a family member and strategizing to most effectively
“close the deal,” and much more.
The Traditional Buying Process Turns Digital: Are You Keeping Up With the
Changes? presented by NetDriven, teaches the elements of a high-performing website
that will help your operation win new business.
Painting With Nitrogen: Inside the Collision Industry's Best-Kept Secret,
presented by Tom Beck will help attendees learn the ins and outs of working with
blended nitrogen, heat and ionization, short-term and long-term advantages of nitrogen
systems and much more.
NORTHEAST 2014 will once again offer two tuition-based I-CAR Classes:
Aluminum-Intensive Vehicle Repairs (ALI01) and Vehicle Technology and Trends 2014
(NEW14), along with several demos throughout the weekend.
