Position Catastrophe Risk Analyst
Modelling natural catastrophe exposure is an exciting and rapidly expanding area of our business. The Willis Analytics Catastrophe Management team helps our clients and business units worldwide to understand risk from natural perils such as windstorm, earthquake and flood.
The team is expanding to meet ever growing client demands. Day-to-day, you will be involved in processing and auditing client data, running client portfolios against stateof-the-art third party and proprietary catastrophe models and synthesising the results.
You may come from any background, but you should be able to show that you take a methodical approach to problem-solving and are comfortable with numbers and IT.
The role requires organisational skills, the capability to see the wider picture while maintaining an eye for detail, and the ability to maintain a rigorous process and high quality output under time pressure.
The successful candidates will be degree educated, ideally have experience of working within the insurance industry and will be confident with computers and figures. A second language would be advantageous.

Managing, auditing, processing and analysing client data

Preparation of data audit reports
Data cleaning
Preparation and formatting of data for modelling
Preparation of model input files
Data analysis using catastrophe modelling software
Preparation of catastrophe modelling reports
Skills/Qualities required :
Degree educated - essential
Confidence with computers and figures – essential
Eye for detail - essential
Enthusiasm and self-motivation – essential
Team player – essential
Experience of using MS Access, MS Excel and SQL – preferred
Experience within the insurance / reinsurance industry – preferred
2nd language – preferred
Interest and/or research experience in natural hazards – preferred
