members for their continued service to the Board and stated that it has been a pleasure working
with them.
The Board received a memo from Secretary Alexander M. Sanchez regarding legislative

Harry Loleas, Interim Commissioner, reported that the bill to extend the Special Fund

review of the Certified Interior Designers' Board. A hearing is scheduled in the Senate
Thursday of this week. Barbara Portnoy will testify on behalf of the Board.

fewer than 60 credits. They are trending away from the 2-year program and are hoping to
gradually require only a 4-year degree. It was noted that Stevenson University is working on
developing a 4-year program. The Board also discussed the possibility of working with a
community college on a 2-year program then try to get a 4-year degree at Towson University.
